‘Big Bang Theory’ star Mayim Bialik Becomes The Latest Guest Host Of Jeopardy.


The Big Bang Theory‘s lovable brainiac Mayim Bialik is seeing stars over her recent -hosting gig on Jeopardy!. On Monday, May 31, , 45, will take the helm of the iconic game show and become the guest since the death of Alex Trebek.

Bialik said during a ! interview posted on Saturday, May 29, “This is such an iconic and unbelievable piece of our collective culture, to be considered to be part of it really is any way, it’s an immense honor.”

She added, “Especially for someone who’s dedicated so much of my life to academia to knowing things and to being able to communicate things.”

Bialik, who has her PHD in neuroscience from UCLA, went on to say, “Being a woman of science, as I am, is something that I’m obviously very passionate about presenting myself as. I really didn’t grow up with a lot of female role models and I think especially for young people — not just young girls, but for young girls and boys — to see that women can be scientists and can do these types of intellectual things, that feels very important to me.”

The “ Bialik’s Breakdown podcast host chose the National Alliance on Mental Illness [NAMI], as her chosen charity that will receive a donation in the amount of the cumulative winnings of contestants during her time as host.

“They provide support and resources and information and all sorts of things that families of those living with mental illness need in order to support their loved one,” Bialik also went on to say in the interview.

“There was a crew that kind of serves as an audience, and all the potential contestants are safely separated in the audience,” Bialik previously told OK! of filming during a pandemic.

“I mean Jeopardy! is one of those incredibly iconic things that is known everywhere. So to be part of that, it felt like a dream,” she gushed. “It felt like a dream to be at that podium and very, very exciting.”

Bialik’s showbiz experience and brains helped her while filming. “My brain just works in those kinds of terms of constantly being like, ‘Okay, cut to commercial, do this, say this, do it again,'” she explained. “I had a great time.”
