Bob Odenkirk Reportedly Collapses On ‘Better Call Saul’ Set

According to TMZ, the 58-year-old collapsed while filming the show in New Mexico on Tuesday, July 27, and was immediately surrounded by crew who called an ambulance.

The outlet noted that it was not clear if Odenkirk was conscious when he was taken to the hospital but he is said to still be in the hospital receiving medical care however, the cause of the collapse has not been reported.

Odenkirk initially played lawyer Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad before landing the spin-off which is in its sixth season. The 13-episode final season is slated to premiere in early 2022.

The prequel show has landed Odenkirk four Golden Globe nominations for best actor in a television series drama as well as four Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actor in a drama series.

Tributes poured out online from famous friends and fans to wish Odenkirk a speedy recovery.

“Sending huge love to our @mrbobodenkirk. You got this, brother,” costar Michael McKean shared on Twitter.

“Oh man, really hope Bob Odenkirk is ok,” Elijah Wood said.

“I love Bob Odenkirk and hope he’s doing as ok as possible,” John Hodgman wrote.

“If you watch Better Call Saul (it’s one of TV’s truly great shows) and you’ve ever felt like an outsider excluded from something you wanted to be a part of, then you identify deeply with Bob Odenkirk. I don’t know him, but he matters to me. And I’m sending my love too,” Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz tweeted.

“Ugh. Thinking good thoughts about Bob Odenkirk right now,” Breaking Bad 101 author Alan Sepinwall said.
