Multiple sources connected to Good Morning America confirmed that the longtime host is booked to appear on the morning show in the near future. “ is speaking out about the controversy and wants to explain the actions he is putting forward to himself,” a source told E! News. “He wants to explain the work he’s doing to help reconcile his actions.”

News of Harrison’s appearance comes after Emmanuel Acho was announced as the new host of the The Bachelor: After The Final Rose special.

As OK! recently reported, Acho — who has a popular YouTube series called Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man — insisted that he “must be allowed to ask anything he wants,” during The Bachelor special. “He will be working with the show’s great team, but there are no questions that are off the table,” the OK! source dished. “Emmanuel doesn’t want to burn the show down, but at the same time, he has to ask uncomfortable questions that will make producers and fans squirm.”

After his defensive attitude during the interview sparked widespread criticism, leaving many appalled and infuriated, Harrison said he will step away from the franchise to “try to evolve and be a better man.” He added that he’s “dedicated to getting educated on a more profound and productive level than ever before,” while noting that his recent actions shouldn’t overshadow the historic importance of James as the first Black male lead.

And while he a candid interview might bring him back into Bachelor Nation’s good graces, OK! exclusively learned that Bachelor fans and former contestants are urging producers to get rid of the 49-year-old for good.

“The producers are getting clobbered with calls for Chris’ removal as host and they are weighing that option,” the source dished, noting that his temporary removal from the franchise might not be enough to appease all those who were offended. “They may have no other choice but to replace him.”
