Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Interview ‘Wreaked Havoc On The Royal Family’

“[Queen Elizabeth II] has barely had any time to herself since the and has been in constant crisis meetings,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that Her Majesty has not personally seen the interview, but she has been “thoroughly briefed” on and Harry’s accusations thrown at the palace.   

“The Queen has always had a soft spot for Harry and looked out for him, so [she] is incredibly hurt and shocked that it has come to this,” the source continued. “She’s trying to be understanding and see things from Harry’s perspective, but the allegations he and Meghan have made are hard for her to digest. The interview has wreaked havoc on the royal family.”

During their tell-all chat with the talk show legend, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about everything — from their decision to officially step back from their roles within the and Meghan’s suicidal thoughts she had during her first pregnancy to the “conversations” that centered around the color of Archie’s skin before he was born and the shocking claim that Harry thinks his brother, Prince William, and father, Prince Charles, are “trapped” inside the royal family.

Two days after the explosive chat, Queen Elizabeth II responded to Meghan and Harry’s claims, issuing a statement from the palace on Tuesday, March 9. “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the statement began. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously by the family privately.”

The statement concluded: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.” 

Although the palace said recollections may vary, OK! recently reported that the Duchess has receipts to corroborate her side of the story. “Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah’s interview. Everything,” Gayle King said on the Tuesday, March 15, episode of CBS This Morning
