Prince Harry Slept Through Phone Call Alerting Him Of Prince Philip’s Death


Apparently Prince Harry is a heavy sleeper! The 36-year-old royal reportedly through the the of his grandfather, Prince Philip in early April.

A representative of the U.S. Embassy attempted to reach around 3 a.m. on April 9 to deliver the tragic news, but the call was never picked up, TMZ reported. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle were reportedly sound asleep at the time of the calls.

After a number of attempted dials, the Embassy representative called the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department requesting that an officer be sent to Harry and Meghan’s home in Montecito, Calif. to inform him of the Embassy’s attempt to reach the Duke of Sussex.

The officer sent to Harry and Meghan’s estate was able to speak to someone that let Harry know he needed to contact the Embassy, and eventually, Harry was informed that Philip had died.

Prince Philip, the late husband of Queen Elizabeth II, died at age 99 on the morning of April 9 at Windsor Castle in England. The funeral ceremony took place in an intimate setting at St. George’s Chapel on the Grounds of Windsor Castle, where only 30 people were allowed to attend.

“I was worried about it, I was afraid about it,” Harry said candidly regarding his reunion with his family. Harry also opened up about how he ultimately relied on therapy techniques to calm his nerves during the trip.

“Going through the motions and being able to lean on the toolbox, and lean on the learnings that I’ve grown from over the past, it definitely made it a lot easier,” he continued. “But the heart still pounds.”
