Princess Eugenie Shares Tribute To Late ‘Grandpa’ Prince Philip



Princess Eugenie is the latest royal to share an emotional to her “Prince Philip who passed on Friday, April 9 at the age of 99.

“Dearest Grandpa,⁣ we all miss you,” she wrote to her Instagram, posting two photos of herself with the royal. “You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days.”

“I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy,” she continued. ⁣”I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day.⁣ I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer.”

“People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them,” she wrote.

“I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren,” she concluded. “Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you.”

Eugenie also honored her grandfather when she welcomed her first child back in February, giving her new son the name August Hawke Brooksbank

Her touching Instagram post comes five days after Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing the sad news that Queen Elizabeth II‘s had passed away at Windsor Castle. Other royal family members shared similar touching tributes including Eugenie’s cousins Prince William and Prince Harry.
