Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Breaks His Silence Following Domestic Violence Arrest


Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has broken his following his on felony charges of . Posting to his Instagram Story on Monday, the Jersey Shore star reflected on the incident and said he was grateful for his “real friends” are.

“I take all experiences as lessons,” he said. “You learn who really cares about you when your [sic] down and out and than you see who doesn’t! But I guess they call it the weeding process.”

“Thank you to my real friends who haven’t left my side and haven’t betrayed me,” he added.

The 35-year-old’s girlfriend Saffire Matos also spoke out about her partner’s arrest in a statement made on her own Instagram Story. 

“Ronnie and I are fine there is a lot of misleading information floating around out there,” she stated. “With anybody who reached out with concern I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that’s being portrayed out there are not facts. I don’t think it’s fair that people are using false accusations to gain attention.”

As OK! previous reported, Ortiz-Magro was reportedly taken into custody on Thursday, April 22, for attacking his partner now identified as Matos. He was released after posting a $100,000 bail, according to TMZ. It is not yet clear if this arrest could trigger a violation of his probation order.

The MTV star was reportedly on probation from a previous arrest. He was booked in October 2019 after he allegedly assaulted Jen Harley, his ex and and mother of his three-year-old daughter Ariana Sky, in an Airbnb in L.A. and was ordered 36 months probation after he evaded jail time thanks to a plea deal.

“We have just learned of the new allegations against Ronnie and need some additional time to further investigate. As such, we will not be making any other statements at this time,” Ortiz-Magro’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, said in a statement.
