Thomas Middleditch Ordered to Pay $2.6 Million To Mollie Gates In Divorce Settlement



A year after they filed for Thomas Middleditch and have finalized their split and the Silicon Valley star was to Gates $2.625 as part of a civil agreement to be received in payments through December 2022.

Gates will not receive spousal support from Middledich but will keep all the possessions she owned before they tied the knot. Middledtich will keep three properties in California; two in Los Angeles and one in Big Bear. He will also retain property in Nelson, British Columbia, in Canada, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

According to Us Weekly, one of the reasons for the payout was because of ’s infamous Playboy interview in 2019 where he said they were swingers.

“Only after I got married was I like, ‘Mollie, I’m sorry, but we have to get nontraditional here.’ To her credit, instead of saying ‘F**k you, I’m out,’ she was like, ‘Let’s figure this out,'” the 39-year-old told the outlet at the time. 

“We have different speeds, and we argue over it constantly, but it’s better than feeling unheard and alone and that you have to scurry in the shadows,” he explained. “By the way, it’s now called being ‘part of the lifestyle.’ The term swinging is old.”

Middleditch later regretted opening up about their marriage.

“To be honest, it’s a thing I wish I could take back. It was poor execution,” The Daily Beast’s “The Last Laugh” podcast in April 2020. “But I’ve learned to keep things a little more close to the chest. It was a painful [learning experience], to be honest.”

Since then, the B Positive star has found himself in more trouble amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Last month, reports emerged that co-founders of the since-closed members-only goth club Cloak & Dagger in Los Angeles, Calif, Adam Bravin and Michael Patterson, allegedly ignored sexual harassment allegations against several members, which included Middleditch, the Los Angeles Times reported. 

As previously reported by OK!, Hannah Harding told the outlet that Middleditch made “lewd sexual overtures” to her and a friend in 2019 and that she was dismissed when she complained to club management after the actor allegedly groped her on the dance floor. Harding also said she saw him grope other women.

“As far as I am aware, they reported every incident to us, and to my knowledge, we dealt with every single issue brought to our attention,” Patterson told The Times. “Our goal from day one was to create the safest space possible,” Bravin echoed. 

Middleditch and Gates tied the knot in 2015.
